As Ochsner Health System’s strategic partner, we created and launched the world’s first InnovationHub, Ochsner’s groundbreaking foray into a public, out-of-clinic brand activation.

THE CHALLENGE

Ochsner Hospital System is a leader in the regional market with its sights set on changing the way we all experience healthcare. In 2018, Ochsner appointed our team to seek out new and innovative ways to connect with the community. This exploration produced a vision for the Innovation Hub: a brand experience that would connect Ochsner with consumers in physical spaces outside of traditional clinical settings. By approaching the market in unexpected places, Ochsner would be able to join conversations that have been previously unreachable by healthcare systems. In these new conversations, we looked for ways to humanize the Ochsner brand while providing value to the prospective patient and strengthening Ochsner’s position as a trusted community partner and health innovator.

THE GOALS

We focused in on three distinct goals that would work together toward the overall vision of positioning Ochsner as a leader in delivering health the community.

  1. Attract a variety of consumers into the conversation through education in the form of interaction geared for all ages.
  2. Create environments that expose consumers to innovative technology and impress upon them its validity in everyday health and wellness.
  3. Introduce consumers to the Ochsner brand and begin their conversion toward brand loyalty, and ultimately treatment, in an organic and frictionless way.
THE SOLUTION

To go where no healthcare system has gone before. We cast a vision to create an experiential beacon for better health that lived in unexpected places. Using bleeding-edge technology that has never before been seen, we planted Ochsner in the middle of New Orleans’ most trafficked mall. Instead of the typical medical messaging, we fabricated first-ever interactive technologies, games, and experiences that invited shoppers to play and have fun. Our “Innovation Hub” experience reinforces Ochsner’s reputation as a leading healthcare innovation partner in the Gulf South and strengthens community and patient relationships.

Stopping Foot Traffic with Augmented Reality Experiences

Using a two-minute AR experience, we provided a new way to communicate Ochsner’s Virtual Visits program. Launching with a real physician and simulating an experience of the virtual appointment, we immerse the user into a new service line. We also feature the Ochsner Anywhere Care Health Kit, created by TytoCare and FDA Cleared during our project cycle. It allows the patient to conduct an accurate physical exam from the comfort of their home and send the readings instantly to their provider.

Illuminating Healthcare with OLED Technology

Our space includes a one-of-a-kind, 9-foot, triple-sided convex touchscreen OLED tower. When we say one of a kind, we mean the first iteration of this use-case in the world. The tower hosts an immersive 3D human body, educational videos exploring innovation at Ochsner, a virtual vending machine interface, and a health and wellness trivia game.

Bringing an NFL Hologram to Life

Capitalizing on the brand’s exclusive corporate sponsorship, 3D hologram technology adds visual appeal with a custom model of a New Orleans Saints athlete running, jumping, and celebrating victory. This unique hologram technology, highly limited in the US, is one of the only use cases in the world of a fully functional, double-sided hologram experience.

To give our audience a unique view of their own wellness, we also built an interactive 3D body. Users have the ability to travel through the layers of the skin, bones, and organs interacting with hot spots that provide more information at each spot.
