2010. Baton Rouge, LA.
Two pairs of college friends unknowingly start small design shops across town: Big Fish Presentations, and Hatchit Creative. Like many young entrepreneurs, we were motivated to get our city on the map – to do something meaningful. Big Fish climbed the Inc. 500 and Hatchit landed projects for brands like Pepsi and Aflac. As our companies grew, we became friends and competitors, but mostly friends.
Hatchit focused on web and branding, and Big Fish focused on presentation design, presentation training, and video. Inherently, we complemented each other pretty well.
In 2013 we set up shop in two offices on the same street – separated by only 368 feet. The result was our brands working together… a lot. So much so that we began working on joint projects together, sharing clients and even employees. We would get lunch together; have company retreats together; and, essentially, became even better friends.
We quickly realized that, by working together, our combined abilities gave our clients something new. And they loved it. We could combine our skills in web technologies with real time presentation experiences to build brand experiences that were more interactive and more real.
They did what we didn’t do; and we did what they didn’t do. We were the perfect fit, in terms of work and mindsets. So, in this respect, we were already a team. But, aside from being two different brands, there was only one thing separating us: 368 feet.
In 2016, we legally merged our shops, naming the new company… well, you get it.
So, what exactly do we do? Well, we do lots of things. Our team is built of problem-solvers, engineers and artists. Instead of getting into the deep details, we asked ourselves what makes us successful? What makes people want to work for us?
We exist to present brands to their customers in new, exciting and authentic ways. We do this by challenging brands to embrace their creative confidence.
This means that we dig deep with you, get personal, and get honest. We understand when the rules matter, and when they should be broken. Most of all, people enjoy working with us because we care deeply about our relationships and our work.
So… What is creative confidence? What does this mean?
Well, it means a lot of things. To us, it means thinking without the limits of consequences, eliminating barriers and stigmas to project your truest self. It’s breaking all the rules sometimes, and coming into a match knowing you’ve already won. It’ being confidently humble and aggressively passionate.
It’s trusting your gut, but using your head.
So how do we help brands find their creative confidence?
We maintain a different perspective: rejecting complacency and challenging our clients. We help them zone in on their purpose and regain their passion — focusing intently on how we can achieve it in the most diverse, creative, and courageous way possible.
We strive to help our clients do some of their life’s best work. And we know that you’ll only do your best work when you truly understand your purpose. So, to us, it’s personal. We have something to prove. Because we believe it’s all about the human experience, and making that experience worth sharing.
It’s about doing things that people will remember. It’s about creating moments that scare, that move, that inspire. It’s about knowing that change is fueled by ideas that are profound and daring enough to be shared.
We’re ThreeSixtyEight — a team of designers, developers, and strategist with a shared directive: to challenge remarkable brands to embrace their creative confidence.
But what about you? If you feel that something is missing, or your brand has lost it’s purpose or personality, let us know.
We’d love to help.
