Some Assembly Required is Back for 2019
After a successful run of quarterly conferences and micro events in the 2017-2018 season, the 2019 Assembly Required season is now officially underway. Similar to the last two micro events, this year’s content revolves around four intimate workshop-style events under the Some Assembly Required brand. Our 2019 topics include: Delivering a Presentation Experience, Building Better Teams, Creating Content that Sells, and Creativity in Business. Although each session highlights a different topic, every event shares these common goals:
- To gather diverse attendees in an intimate setting to support networking between community leaders, business professionals, and those in the creative arts.
- To equip attendees with skills and tools to combat common challenges experienced by new and established professionals and creatives in our community.
This year’s Some Assembly Required season comes with an exciting addition: every attendee will directly impact tomorrow’s entrepreneurs. We are donating a portion of every event’s ticket proceeds to Junior Achievement New Orleans’ Trust Your Crazy Ideas Competition (in partnership with the Brees Dream Foundation). Building on Assembly Required’s strong entrepreneurial themes, this partnership enables us to impact an audience we typically don’t reach through this student entrepreneurship competition. As described on their website, “the competition teaches entrepreneurial thinking to students and fine tunes their business pitches before presenting the finalists at a culminating event during New Orleans Entrepreneur Week.” We will collect proceeds throughout the year, and the final amount will be announced during our fourth event: Creativity in Business. Our hope is that we can continue to impact the creative and entrepreneurial class of all ages.
With the help of our lead sponsor Blue Cross Blue Shield Louisiana and presenting sponsor Business First Bank, we will be launching the first of four Some Assembly Required event on April 25th @ the ThreeSixtyEight HQ at 6:00PM. The night will consist of networking with local bites and brews from dinner sponsor Soji: Modern Asian, facilitated discussions, interactive activities, and a workshop by our very own ThreeSixtyEight CEO Kenny Nguyen on how to deliver great presentation experiences. Nguyen, previously authored the published book The Big Fish Experience: Create Memorable Presentations that Reel in Your Audience and co-founded Big Fish Presentations, a specialized creative agency that focused on presentations and has worked with clients such as TED, Unilever, GE, NASA, Nationwide Insurance, and CenturyLink.
